Caution using MAP Construction Corinth, Texas
MAP CONSTRUCTION - Corinth, Texas - PERPETRATES A SCAM::
This Blog has been created to bring to those readers attention, who are considering utilizing MAP Construction of Corinth, Texas that the business practices of the owner, Michael Paulson, are unprofessional, unethical and immoral.
The photo attached is my office. The building and all contents were destroyed by a fire. In searching for a construction company to perform the demolition, MAP Construction - located at 4251 FM 2181, Suite 230 PMB 322, Corinth, Texas 76210, was engaged to perform the demolition.
::The FACTS::
MAP construction quoted a price for the demolition.
MAP construction provided a written contract for the total work to be performed.
The contract, after revisions. was approved by both parties, myself and Michael Paulson the owner of MAP construction.
The work was performed and payments made over 4 draws.
Upon final payment, Michael Paulson, the owner signed a Lien release, indicating he was in fact, paid in full.
One month later, a LIEN was placed on the office by a subcontractor, hired by MAP construction, for the carting and removal of the fire destroyed debris.
The lien amount, over $10,000.00.
WHY did this occur. This occured due to Michael Paulson failing to disclose that his company hired a subcontractor who then hired the carting company. Per Texas Real Property Code ...Section 53.256 List of subcontractors and Suppliers and Section 53.259..Final Bills Paid Affadavit required...MichaelPaulson failed to notify of the subcontractor and failed to pay the carting company.
Better Business Bureau
MAP Construction is NOT a member of the Better Business Bureau. A questionable practice. These actions, perpetrated by Michael Paulson, were brought to the Dallas Better Business Bureau and are on record there as an unresolved complaint. If MAP construction were a member their rating would be an F for perpetrating this fraud.
Texas State Attorney Generals Office - Complaint #366139::
Please be advised that this was also brought to the Texas State Attorney Generals Office and is registered as Consumer Complaint #366139, for the viewing of the General Public.

ReplyDeleteTHIS IS A NOTICE THAT MAP CONSTRUCTION HAS MADE AN APPROPRIATE EFFORT TO RESOLVE THE ABOVE REFERENCED MATTER. AS A RESULT OF MAP CONSTRUCTION EFFORTS THE LIEN ON THIS PROPERTY HAS BEEN REMOVED.
I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THE IMPROPER LIEN ON MY PROPERTY WAS FILED BY A SUB-CONTRACTOR WHO WAS NOT PAID BY THE SUBCONTRACTOR, EVEN THOUGH MAP CONSTRUCTION HAD FULLY PAID THE SUBCONTRACTOR. I FURTHER LEARNED THAT MICHAEL PAULSON, UPON LEARNING OF THE IMPROPER LIEN, MOVED QUICKLY TO GET THE LIEN RELEASED AND TO HAVE THE SUBCONTRACTOR CRIMINALLY PROSECUTED.

I WAS MISTAKEN IN MY ACCUSATIONS AGAINST MAP CONSTRUCTION AND MICHAEL PAULSON. I DO SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ANY HARM MY MISTAKEN ACCUSATIONS HAVE CAUSED MICHAEL PAULSON AND MAP CONSTRUCTION OF CORINTH TEXAS. ROBERT CENTOLA/ARMY MAJOR
